1. Book Distribution Seminar held on 01 May 2024

Srila Prabhupada has always laid a lot of emphasis on Book distribution – in the aim of sharing the teachings and philosophy of Krishna Consciousness with the whole world. Srila Prabhupada translated and commented on several religious classics of India – namely the Bhagavad-gītā, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam and Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta. His books are highly respected in the academic circle and are used as standard textbooks in several academic courses.

Points made during the seminar

  • When we distribute books sharing the philosophy of Krishna consciousness with others, Srila Prabhupada and Lord Krishna are pleased with us
  • Lord Krishna says in the Bhagavad-gītā (verses 18.68 & 18.69) that there is no one more dear to Him than the person distributing transcendental knowledge
Bg. 18.68
ya idaṁ paramaṁ guhyaṁ
mad-bhakteṣv abhidhāsyati
bhaktiṁ mayi parāṁ kṛtvā
mām evaiṣyaty asaṁśayaḥ

Translation
For one who explains this supreme secret to the devotees, pure devotional service is guaranteed, and at the end he will come back to Me.

***
Bg. 18.69
na ca tasmān manuṣyeṣu
kaścin me priya-kṛttamaḥ
bhavitā na ca me tasmād
anyaḥ priya-taro bhuvi

Translation
There is no servant in this world more dear to Me than he, nor will there ever be one more dear.

  • When we distribute Bhagavad-gītā books, we are sharing the pure message of Krishna, as spoken in the battlefield of Kurukshetra
  • When we distribute Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, the reader will see Lord Krishna in every page, as mentioned in the narrative
  • Book distribution is a transcendental activity  – In the books are Krishna’s names
