Welcome to Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir!

Not only should one visit the temple to see the Deity nicely decorated, but at the same time he should hear the recitation of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Bhagavad-gītā or some similar literature, which is regularly recited in the temple [ŚB 3.25.36].

Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir offers a peaceful sanctuary to devotees and the public at large – a place where one can experience the uniqueness of Bhakti (or loving devotion) to Lord Krishna. As Lord Krishna Himself states in the Bhagavad Gita, pratyakṣāvagamaṁ dharmyaṁ susukhaṁ kartum avyayam: “The process of devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead is eternal, and it is very joyfully and naturally performed.”

At Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Temple, all activities are centered around Lord Krishna. From as early as 4.30 a.m, Arati is offered to the Lord and is open to visitors.

Temple's History

Early 1980s

The devotees had the first glimpse of the Farm in 1981; water and electricity were supplied in 1982; the first cow was donated in 1983

By December 1984

First biogas plant was inaugurated, there were now 4 cows, a high-rise thatch roof was erected on original stone building, bulls pulled carts and ploughed the fields, devotees were getting fantastic milk from the cows, worship of Gaura Nitai started.

Late 1980s

In 1987, Sri Sri Radha Golokananda moved to the farm till 1990, devotees at the farm were delighted to serve Sri Sri Radha Golokananda.

Early 1990s

The road leading to the farm was renamed from Beau Bois to Vrindavan in 1990, the first large scale Janmashtami was held in 1991, construction materials were brought in from India.

1993 to 2000

Construction going on, carved sandstones and marble slabs were imported from Rajasthan (approximately 15 containers) as a cost effective strategy.

2000 - The Grand Opening of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir

On 15 August 2000, Sri Sri Krishna Balaram were installed amidst ecstatic celebrations lasting for days, priests were called in from India to conduct the different ceremonies prior to installation, Kirtans were mesmerizing, it was a grand affair with the opulence and sweetness of Sri Vrindavan Dham.

kaler doṣa-nidhe rājann asti hy eko mahān guṇaḥ
kīrtanād eva kṛṣṇasya mukta-saṅgaḥ paraṁ vrajet
kṛte yad dhyāyato viṣṇuṁ tretāyāṁ yajato makhaiḥ
dvāpare paricaryāyāṁ kalau tad dhari-kīrtanāt

'The most important factor in this Age of Kali, which is an ocean of faults, is that one can be free from all contamination and become eligible to enter the kingdom of God simply by chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra. The self-realization that was achieved in the Satya millennium by meditation, in the Tretā millennium by the performance of different sacrifices, and in the Dvāpara millennium by worship of Lord Kṛṣṇa can be achieved in the Age of Kali simply by chanting the holy names, Hare Kṛṣṇa.'
